Position Overview
I-2-I Solutions, Inc. is seeking a qualified Indiana-licensed Water Operator to support an anticipated federal water-operations contract at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Terre Haute.
The selected operator will support operation and regulatory monitoring of the facility's water plant in accordance with applicable EPA and Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) requirements.
This position requires an individual who currently holds both DSL and WT3 operator licenses issued by IDEM. Candidates who do not currently possess both required licenses will not meet the contractual qualification requirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain active DSL and WT3 certifications/licenses issued by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management throughout the period of performance.
- Provide proof of current DSL and WT3 licensing before performance and maintain the credentials throughout the assignment.
- Be available for a minimum of five on-site visits per week.
- Perform EPA/IDEM-compliant chlorine residual testing at:
- the water distribution system; and
- the water plant.
- Perform required water-plant testing five days per week for:
- iron;
- finished iron;
- raw manganese; and
- finished manganese.
- Record and maintain daily water-quality monitoring results.
- Compile and sign required monthly operating reports.
- Document monthly reporting information including daily testing results, pounds of chlorine used, potassium permanganate usage, and daily flow totals.
- Verify that testing required under the applicable standard monitoring framework has been completed.
- Support preparation and submission of required IDEM reporting in accordance with the final contract requirements.
- Provide training to facility operators as needed.
- Be present for Indiana Department of Environmental Management site inspections when required.
- Support inspection activities for the required inspection period identified by the contract.
- Promptly notify I-2-I Solutions if either required operator license becomes subject to review, suspension, revocation, or another licensing action by IDEM or EPA.
- Follow applicable FCC Terre Haute security and facility-access requirements while working at the federal correctional complex.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have:
- Current Indiana IDEM DSL license/certification.
- Current Indiana IDEM WT3 license/certification.
- Ability to maintain both licenses throughout the assignment.
- Ability to perform on-site services in Terre Haute, Indiana, five days per week.
- Ability to accurately conduct and document chlorine residual, iron, and manganese monitoring required by the contract.
- Ability to prepare, review, and sign regulatory water-operation reports.
- Ability to attend required IDEM inspections and coordinate professionally with facility and regulatory personnel.
- Ability to comply with applicable federal facility security and access procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience operating or monitoring drinking-water treatment and distribution systems subject to IDEM requirements is preferred. Experience with regulatory reporting, chlorine residual monitoring, iron and manganese testing, chemical-usage documentation, flow records, and regulatory inspections would be particularly relevant to this assignment.
Schedule
Routine on-site services are required five days per week. The SOW states one hour daily for routine water-operator testing activities and identifies additional time for inspections when required. Exact daily scheduling will be coordinated around facility and contract requirements.
