Position Summary

I-2-I Solutions is seeking a qualified Water Quality Sampler and Licensed Water System Operator to perform drinking-water sample collection, field testing, documentation, and sample transportation services at two National Park Service well-water systems in Malibu, California.

The position is part-time and route-based. The selected individual will conduct biweekly, monthly, and annual sampling activities and deliver collected samples to a California Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program, or CA ELAP, certified laboratory.

The successful candidate must be dependable, detail-oriented, familiar with drinking-water sampling procedures, and capable of maintaining accurate chain-of-custody and site-log documentation.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collect bacteriological and drinking-water samples from the Circle X and Arroyo Sequit water systems.
  • Conduct biweekly coliform sampling at designated system locations.
  • Collect monthly raw-water bacteriological samples.
  • Collect THM, HAA5, nitrate, nitrite, and other required compliance samples according to the approved sampling schedule.
  • Conduct field chlorine-residual testing during distribution-system sampling.
  • Verify and document chlorine readings on the chain-of-custody form and in the applicable well-house log.
  • Properly label, preserve, store, and transport samples in accordance with regulatory and laboratory requirements.
  • Deliver samples to a CA ELAP-certified laboratory within the required sample holding times.
  • Complete accurate chain-of-custody documentation for each sample.
  • Record sampling dates, times, locations, test results, and other required information in site logs.
  • Notify the project manager promptly of abnormal field readings, access problems, missed samples, damaged equipment, or other issues.
  • Follow applicable federal, California, OSHA, National Park Service, and water-system safety requirements.
  • Protect government property, keys, facilities, and sensitive site information.
  • Coordinate sampling dates and laboratory deliveries with the project manager and laboratory personnel.
  • Perform repeat or corrective sampling when authorized and required.
